Been here only once, but the place is absolutely divine. It probably serves the best Thai food in the capital accompanied with a most gorgeous view of the Qutub Minar. The staff is extremely courteous and helpful in making your selection from the menu and service is prompt. Can't think of anything negative to say about the place.

I hadn't heard of Thai food till the time I visited Thai High ! I am a vegetarian and I was floored with their Thai green curry and jasmine rice ! The food, sitting on their terrace and a brut idyl view of Qutub minar and the forests surrounding all make for a timeless memorable dining experience !

The best Thai restaurant I have ever been to and this one is my favourite restaurant for its rooftop sitting and the beautiful view of Qutab Minar. The ambience is really nice and the service is also good. Little costly but the ambience and view makes it worth it. The food tastes really fresh and delicious. Since its a thai restaurant i was expecting pork but there's no pork in this restaurant. There's no parking space but you get a valet parking for free.Altogether it's an awesome restaurant. A must visit.

I love thai food and this place has nearly 100% authentic thai food. In other places you just an indian version of it. So kudos to thai high for that. The ambience is breathtaking with candle light and view of qutub minar. So all in all a marvellous experience.

We had dinner here last night--- loved it! Amazing Thai food---- really good mix of spices and flavors. Excellent menu with diverse choice. Service was very attentive and helpful--- nice waiter. They have a highly air conditioned area, but we decided to sit outside in the main terrace--- really gorgeous at night and well lit for accent lights. There's also a top terrace for even better views of the Qtab Minar and the dome of the Mosque--- plus city views. Highly recommended!Tip: it's a bit hard to find, so we called to get directions... in Mehruli just after an intersection. Also, the guard can help with the elevator, which is also a bit confusing--- go to the top floor #3.

This place was in my whishlist for a long time. Finally managed to visit. Its little difficult to find the place near Mehrauli however when u reach the place you will be mesmerized by the ambiance. The sitting arrangements, candles, lamps, terrace sitting and view was superb. Now coming to the food, it was very nice. Try phad thai noodles and thai high chicken. Mocktails are also nice. And specially the names are interesting like love bite, 2PM lol. Want to mention abt the service. The people were very nice and very attentive. Its a must visit place.

Being a foodie have never been hesitant in trying out a new place before judging it. Thai High has an ambience that is an epitome of romance. The rooftop, the red brick decor, the dim lights and the view of the Qutub makes it ohh so amazing. All this combined with delicious delicacies. We picked up this place for a quiet dinner after a long tiring day - perils of the city life. And have never been so satisfied. The service is impeccable. We started off with crunchy chicken which wasn't on the menu but was suggested to us with some bourbon for him and Bailey's for myself - my all time fav.The appetizer was so yum that we decided to try something else on the menu as well. So we ordered chicken cashew with a repeat from the bar.For the main course he opted for lamb which was one of the best that we had in the city. I chose to stick with seafood hence opted for creamy garlic crabs - don't remember the Thai name for it. All I can say about the food is - one must try it.Located in one corner of the city Thai High delivers better than it promises. Also, for all those who are worried about the crowd (he was apprehensive of it and had warned to leave if it wasn't decent) - do not even think twice about it. Looking forward to more such romantic evenings.Being a foodie have never been hesitant in trying out a new place before judging it. Thai High has an ambience that is an epitome of romance. I was checking out places on zomato yesterday and kept Thai high in my wishlist...I went there today thru GPS with my friends..when we reached there I was actually thinking to turn around and go back due to the shady area...But thought let's just have a look...the restaurant has budha sculpture and quite romantic settings...U can sit either inside or outside overlooking the qutub minar. They have really good veg n non veg options and I decided to go for crab in garlic butter pepper and broccoli mushroom and babycorn in basil sauce...with Thai veg rice...the veg dish was really good...had perfect taste of basil, the crabs were good too and were deshelled but I have had better...the best part was the dates on fire sweet dish which comes in flames...so mouthwatering with good taste of toffee...and soft sweet dates...a must try...quite different...so don't go by the locality...try it...ul luv the fresh food.

This place is a must visit, if you are looking for a romantic setting and excellent Thai food. The roof top and the terrace are my favorite sit-outs, with Qutub Minar right next to this place. When we went there, that night there were lots of fireworks due to some festival and sky lit up every 10 minutes, making the experience even more memorable. The lighting is a bit too dim, you can ask for more candles for your table. If you are coming from Gurgaon, don't trust Google maps as it shows a road through Mehrauli village. Call beforehand for a reservation and directions.

Cool breeze in delhi summers with Qutab Minar in view was nice. ??Go for the open air roof top and not closed AC dine in.Food is amazing . Authentic thai. They claim to provide candle light, but this was a let down. Surely s different kind of eating experience in delhi.

Really beautiful experience. My brother and I took our mom and aunt here for mothers day. I'd really like to thank the manager, Joseph for making our experience very special. We started with cocktails and crispy lamb, steamed fish and som tam salad. All three were very nicely done, and felt fresh to eat and delicately flavoured. For main course, we got the whole fried red snapper, sticky rice, stir fried greens and pad thai (we weren't too hungry :P). These went perfectly with my beer and the kir's that the manager very graciously sent for the moms.Another surprise came after the food- Since we were celebrating mothers day, the waitstaff sent out a lovely rum cake and chocolate brownie with ice cream.I've been to Thai High a couple times before, and my mother is a regular here. Im writing this review to really appreciate how special the staff at the restaurant made us feel.Cant wait to be back!My only wish is that the qutab minar be illuminated at night, it would look gorgeous! of course, thats not in the restarurants hands though.Really beautiful experience. EXCELLENT! Wow was the word when we got to the table on the top level of this restaurant. Getting here is a little tricky so I would advice being a little patient with that.BUT the view it offers sets the mood right for a perfect evening. We were lucky that there was a private party going on which had a very nice live band performing for them.AUTHENTIC THAI FOOD! There red curry is just so yum. Big and light portions and yes you do pay a decent (little expensive) price for it or maybe more of because of the taxes. But we did get leftovers packed with us :)I am definitely going there again. We did spend around 2.5 hours just sitting and enjoying the view and the music and yes of course the food. The .5 deducted are for the unavailability of desserts as that comes as a surprise in the end.  Also I would be happy if they start serving the traditional Thai teas.

Thanks to zomato for introducing me to the place. The location of the restaurant was a bit unimpressive but once you get inside the place its a whole new experience!!!!!!The place has 3 different seating areas. One is a hall and two are outdoor sitting areas. We got ourselves seated at the terrace and our table directly overlooked the qutub. It was indeed a serene experience!!!The setting was dim, light music and a cool breeze added to the aura of the place. The food served is Thai and it just adds to the whole experience. They have a good variety of alcohol and cocktails as well. The best one was cosmopolitan. The staff was very responsive and courteous.Just when we thought this mesmerizing experience was about to end, a surprise awaited us and they started with a live performance. Then we just couldn't make ourselves leave the place till the performance was going on and finally we left only after the whole spell was broken by the end of the performance.Overall a great place however the food can b improved a bit. Definitely m gonna go there again :)Thanks to zomato for introducing me to the place. It's a beautiful place that serves amazing quality of Thai food. I visited the place today for brunch and it was quite surprisingly empty. The outdoor seating is serene but we opted for the indoor seating, having had enough of the outdoors after a long walk through the Mehrauli Archaeological Park.We tried the Tom Kha soup, Satay Kai and Kai Chub Ngar. The food quality is impeccable, the chicken was perfectly cooked and the soup was really good as well. The service they provide is courteous and fit for any luxurious place as well. We had lime water for drinks. This is the place to try if you want to explore the city and treat yourself to a wonderful experience!

We had a small family dinner to celebrate my brothers birthday. The ambience is lovely. It was rainy day and because of chill in the air we didn't dare to sit in open which is its main offering. But the ambience is superb. Dinning with Qutub Minar in background and greeneries and calm air is an awesome experience. We went by server choices for ordering dishes and he really picked some nice and tongue licking stuff- Crispy veg fried salad which is yummy... Prawns in salt and pepper, veg Thai curry, prawn curry, grilled chicken satay. It was great evening topped with LIIT and cosmopolitan.A must visit for foodies.

This place is so beautiful I wonder how I wasn't introduced to it before!I went there yesterday night with two of my friends. Looking for something different in Mehrauli and we landed at Thai High. It was pretty late when we landed so everything around looked shut and I was wondering how the place will turn out to be. I was pleasantly surprised to be welcomed at a pretty open air restaurant. It is spacious so every table enjoys enough privacy, There are two levels, we sat at the top most. The waiters were very polite to show us to our table and suggest what we should order. The service was also really good and fast.We ordered for Stir fried Chinese greens(veg) which was really balanced with its flavors, crisp and fresh, Thai High Satay(non veg) which was very well done and Chilly garlic fried rice was decent enough. Their qty is fairly good, service is brilliant which i guess makes them stand out. I am not very fond of thai but they have changed my opinion in a good way.I would definitely recommend this place if you are looking to go for a nice date, candle lights and a great view! This place is so beautiful I wonder how I wasn't introduced to it before!I went there yesterday night with two of my friends. To begin with, the ambience is perfect. You have a great view of the Qutub if you chose the outdoor sitting. They have an amazing variety in terms of dishes they serve. The chicken in Satay was really amazing and so was the crispy chicken in the plum sauce. The service was great too :)The only low light was that they don't serve wine by glass :(. Other than that, this place is great for Thai. If you are a Thai lover, you can't miss out on the Thai High!!

I love Thai high. It was one of my fav places to come to while growing up. The last time I visited was maybe two years ago. And even though the service is still supremely slow, I don't mind at all because when the food does arrive, it's fantastic. Service was very hospitable and catered to our personal requirements. Big up for Thai high :) you managed a rowdy/finicky group of seven with great finesse.

It's in a tucked in place, you might just need to give them a call to find it. Thai high, I love the name of the restaurant and everything else about it. It's on the 4th floor with the view of Qutab minar, which looks lovely at night. One thing I love about the restaurant is the way it's done up with multi level dining spaces both open and closed. The interiors of this place make you want to spend a lot of time there. Coming to the food. The quality of the food is excellent. We had crab, which ofcourse was difficult to eat considering you have to break the shell etc, but the lemon butter base in which the crab was cooked made all the effort worth it. We had a chicken based dish, the name of which I cannot recall. But overall the food was very nice.If you want to celebrate an occasion or ho for a date, this is the place to be.

Everything about this place is superb. The ambience, food and service are all top class. The only thing that didn't go down well with me is the accessibility. The restaurant is located on a very congested street which is a big let down. The restaurant has very high standards but it's surroundings are not. Alcohol menu is very limited but it does the job. Don't forget to ask for the upper deck.

The ambiance at Thai High is a huge drawcard. A great place for a romantic dinner, a family meal, or a catch up with friends. Ask for a table at the top if one is available (or maybe call to book one in advance if you're going to be arriving later in the evening) as this is where you will get the best views of the Qutub Minar. The food is quite nice - the Pla Lad Phrik has a great taste and crunch and I would recommend it and have it again myself. I also really liked the idea of the Dates on Fire although it was too windy to properly flambé on the night that I went.

This review is not for my first meal at Thai High, but the second. Getting to Thai-high is definitely an uncomfortable trek and if you haven't already heard of it, you're unlikely to come across it in the middle of a busting (and not in the good way) local market. We were here for dinner last Saturday, and although they had some sort of fixed package event going on, since we weren't aware of it and weren't there for either the live music or the alcohol, the management was kind enough to offer us an À la carte meal. The view from the upper deck, where we picked a table, is probably among the best from any restaurant around town. It directly overlooks the Qutub minar and the surrounding forests, although the view is somewhat ruined by a lot of haphazard construction in the area. Breathtaking nonetheless, it gets your experience here off to a good start. The staff is very attentive and courteous, and on the first of several disagreements from previous reviews, I note that our server was also quick to offer suggestions on what he thought we might want to sample. For starters, we picked the Yam Phak Krob (vegetarian) and Thai high satay (non), which arrived in a decent 10-12 minutes. Disagreeing with a previous review again, I do not agree that the thai food served at Thai High, at least on this occasion is not authentic or lacks the right flavour, and I come to this conclusion having dined at many if not most of the thai restaurants around town, as well as around S-E-A. The Yam Phak Krob is very delicately fried to make sure that there's a perfect tender crispiness to the vegetables and no hint of the typical deep fried variety usually served up. This is not "salt and pepper crispy veg", so don't expect it to be. The tangy sauce is interestingly different, almost a jus. It does take a little getting used to in the first bite, but the tanginess is very palatable and we found the preparation to be very, very good. The satay again, mildly balanced, cooked tender with the essential peanut dip was just as it should be. The chicken had absorbed the flavours of its dressing sauce perfectly and you can taste it right through the tender pieces on the skewer. The portions of both dishes were adequate, yet left us with ample room for the mains, which was the Kaeng Pet (thai red curry) and sticky rice (we were warned while ordering that the rice would take a while). Now having sampled a lot of thai curry, both red and green both at home and away, one does learn to distinguish the various varieties around and whether they're your run of the mill packed prep kind of those genuinely cooked using fresh ingredients. Also, interestingly, even while sampling freshly made thai pastes and curries, one finds a variety of renditions around, each tailored to a particular taste with one's own twist thrown in, much like a lot of Indian cuisine. As long as you have the core of the preparation sorted, you're good to go, and free to experiment (somewhat). And at Thai High, they do. We were asked beforehand how we would like our curry spiced, and we picked mildly. The curry was just that, very well flavoured again, tasted mild, richly flavoured with all the familiar ingredients, and to us, nothing tasted like it didn't belong. Paired with the sticky rice, it went down very well indeed. The portion again, is more than adequate for three not-too-heavy eaters, and unfortunately, we had no room left for dessert. We paid about Rs. 2300 including taxes for our meal, and although it does feel a bit on the higher side and I'd have preferred to keep it within Rs. 1800-2000, the view, ambience and the food together do make it pretty worth your while.Ambience: 4.5Service: 4Food: 4Price: 3.5

Amazing food, Breathtaking ambience.Chicken hot basil rice , red snapper , steam prawns and som tam are a must try. stir fried fish with thai ginger was also good. But the dishes which were just superb were cripsy vegetables and tom kha kai. They have a good service team as well. So this time, I was asked by this friend of mine to find a place where we could go to eat great Thai Food, and this called for a Zomato Search - which pointed me to this place. Looking at the beautiful pictures, I decided let's see what this place has got!I must say, this place is NOT easy to find. It's in the very interiors of Mehrauli, and in a building you'd hardly notice while crossing. But, thanks to GPS, and a few askings of "Bhaiya, ye Thai High kahan padega", we reached. The first thing that crossed my mind after entering - this is only a Dinner Restaurant, coming here for Lunch would prove to be futile. You might enjoy the food, but if you sit outside, the sun will kill you. However, if you do come here for Dinner, you will actually enjoy the beauty of the place, and not just food.Coming to the food, we ordered 2 Drinks, 2 Starters, and then Plain Rice & Thai Red Curry for Main Course, followed by a Dessert. For me, I really really liked the Thai here. It was just great (contrary to the other reviews I read on Zomato - but I guess I was just lucky, and probably ordered very safe). The Drinks & the Dessert were just okay though, nothing great. Starters & Main Course - brilliant! The staff was very courteous, the service was good, and the ambiance was excellent - and so was the view of the Qutub Minar from the place. All in all, a good experience, a must visit place if you enjoy Thai. I'd give it a 4.0/5.0.So this time, I was asked by this friend of mine to find a place where we could go to eat great Thai Food, and this called for a Zomato Search - which pointed me to this place. The spectacular view of The Qutub Minar and the look & feel of the outdoor seating makes it appear even more beautiful. The prices quoted in the menu on Zomato are a little misleading. On Friday night, we suddenly decided to head there for dinner and promptly made a reservation. Unfortunately, it was raining and we had to sit indoors. The service was quite slow but the food was mindblowingly good. We started with the Steamed Fish topped with Lemon Grass Tamarind and Yam Phak Krob (Spicy Crisp Vegetable Salad in a tanngy dressing). The fish literally melted in our mouths and the vegetable salad delivered all the flavours it promised to. We had a Chicken Penang Curry, Sliced Pork Grilled with Honey Chilli Sauce, Chicken Red Curry, and steamed rice. The Penang Curry was the highlight of our meal and is a favourite. The Date Pudding was the only disappointing element as the texture was absolutely off - could be a case of overbeating, maybe. On pointing this out we were given the option to go for another dessert. We picked the brownie (safe option).swagataraha.wordpress.com

A really good place for a romantic date or a family dinner (depending on where you sit) and even more if your are a history buff. Overlooking Qutub-Minar, it offers really good Thai food with great service.Though reaching it can be a pain and you'll be a little put off by it's appearance from the outside, but don't be fooled by that. Once you go up, and specially, if you head to the top most terrace, you'll be awe-struck by the sight it offers.Best time to go: Full moon night (for a romantic date) and you'll have a really impressed partner.

The whole concept may sound very over priced but one should not judge the restaurant only by its net review. The breath taking view of the sparkling Qutub set against a background of twinkling stars, the flowy white marquees with comfortable sofas you'd melt into and the beautiful Zen Garden makes it, for what it is worth " a perfect package of relaxation, luxury and taste". My personal fav was the Green Chicken with Jasmine Rice but the cherry on the cake(literally) is the whole array of mouth watering desserts they have to offer. The whole experience made special by that extra attention the host paid to each customers demands and choices. Thus I recommend it as a 'MUST VISIT'.

It the view from this place that is simply breathtaking ! You will fall in love with the decor and the ambiance. The people are friendly and the service is quick.  The food is Thai ( its a given, i know!) and its the best of the sorts you can get in the city. Compared to the other restaurants in the area , it definitely suits the pockets more. To be honest when i was entering the place, i wasn't looking forward to it much ( the location outdoors , isn't the best). I was pleasantly surprised while i entered and was greeted with happy faces and the best view of qutab minar! Although as we entered the place, it was quite amazing. Food is excellent, tried stir fried veg snacks and traditional red Thai curry with flavoured rice, everything up to the mark. Music they played was confusing and the interiors lacked proper authenticity, that's what I felt. All in all a good food experience but kinda mixed overall effect. Thai High is one of those restaurants for me.The joint should be visited during daytime when you can clearly see magnificent ancient monuments of the archeological park - Jamali Kamali, and the majestic Qutab Minar. In the evening the sight is awesome but due to the lack of natural and artificial light. Sliced pork was spicy and full of veggies it was not too oily and pork was not too chewy. The desserts were a big let down, we were in mood to order 3 desserts after seeing their wide variety in Desserts but to our disappointment the cheesecake and banoffee pie was not available so we had to settle with Dates on Fire. The spicy pudding with a hint of alcohol and dates as the essence failed to please us.In a nutshell 4/5saltandsandals.comMehrauli to me is yet another urban village like Hauz Khas, and Shahpur Jat, where up class restaurants are located in modernized villages and are patronized by the social elite of Delhi ? Went to this place after many years , with some apprehension since I was taking a cousin from abroad and who enjoys trying different culinary but more fine dining kind of experiences.Went on this past Friday night after making reservations. While making the reservation I requested for the Manager to call me back just to ensure I get a good table. The person who took the reservation assured me that the manager would call me , and he did. So that itself bode well for me.We sat on the top floor to get a good view of the Qutub minar. Unfortunately the monument wasn't lit up but we didn't let that dampen our spirits. The place has a nice ambience, low lighting, and they are thoughtful enough to place mosquito coils everywhere. My phone battery needed charging and the bartender was nice enough to get a USB port arranged for me.I ordered a lemon ginger margarita and my cousin had an orange mojito. I liked my drink more than the mojito. I also had a Chilean red wine which I didn't like much- can't blame them for that!We ordered veg satay and corn cakes flavoured with lemon grass. I have to say both were very good. The corn cakes had very fresh flavouring. For the main course we had Thai red curry and rice. Again the curry had excellent flavouring. It was a little thicker than the Thai curries I have had but very fresh flavouring. On the whole the service, the ambience and the food, all were ?Enjoyable evening . If you want to go for a really good relaxed evening without loud music disturbing you, and are ready to spend some money, you must visit this place. While the USP is the view, they don't stop at that. And that's the best part.I would have given 4.5 rating but have taken away .5 only because despite reminding them that the bill needed to be given to me and not my guest, they messed up on that. But that should not stop anyone from trying out the place!Keep it up Guys.Went to this place after many years , with some apprehension since I was taking a cousin from abroad and who enjoys trying different culinary but more fine dining kind of experiences.Went on this past Friday night after making reservations. You get a full view of the Qutub Minar while dining, and the subtle lighting makes the ambience even better.the food is good. very good actually. So suggest you plan accordingly if you're not fond of the roadside music or else just play along and enjoy the show!!They've got a very different charm about this place. I had been working quite near Thai high for almost an year and had always been wanting to go here.. Finally today I got a chance to have lunch here.. I went pretty early. It was just 12 noon.. When I reached.. So it was absolutely empty and the outdoor tables were still not laid.. The place is nevertheless beautiful and has a beautiful view of qutub minar!! I am sure the place will look surreal at night... To eat we ordered a Thai high chicken and a spicy Thai chilly paste rice with prawns.. And a cold coffee to drink.. Thai high chicken was perfectly cooked.. Made spicy as per our direction and it tasted wonderful.. Rice was great, spicy and the prawns were fresh.. Cold coffee was jus fine.. Would have been lovely if they could have used sugar in moderation.. I am definitely coming back to try more of there food.. But for dinner!! Don't wanna miss the beautiful view at the night!!!

Thai High has a spectacular view of the Qutab and equally awesome food. It is spread over multiple levels and the weather was just perfect for us to sit out and enjoy the light cool breeze with some great food. I was there a couple of days back and feasted on Som Tam (Spicy Raw Papaya Salad), Satay Kai (Chicken Satay) & Yam Phak Krob (Crispy Vegetables Thai Style) for starters. Each dish was really amazing and so were the accompaniments. The manager of the outlet, Joseph, is really an attentive man and consistently ensured that the service at our table was none else but the best. For main course we indulged in some simple Thai Chicken in Red Curry & Steamed Rice. It tasted fresh and was full of flavour. As for the starters this was equally great as well. Thai High also makes a decadent Tiramisu. It should definitely be a part of your order, if you happen to stroll in there. Enjoy your meal.To Sum-It-Up: Awesome Thai Food. Not to be missed.sumitup.in

It's a nice place, once you are in. The complex is in an area where you would doubt that a good restaurant would be. But, it's great once you are there. Try out the dessert wine collection, it's kind of cool. The outdoor seating is good with canopies et al. Indoor is conventional.

Spent a romantic evening here on one of the better weather days in Delhi. Why we wanted to go there: Setup on a rooftop overlooking the Qutub Minar, this was expected to be a romantic, specialty Thai cuisine restaurantWhy we might go again: Loved the ambience and the decor. While the prices are steep, the quality of the dishes, and the flavors were wonderful. We specially loved the tamarind flavored chicken lollypops, crispy and the tamarind zing was superb. Why we might not go again: The place was pretty deserted and lacked any buzz.Final word: Go there to celebrate a special day, in case you like Thai Cuisine and are willing to spend around Rs 1,500 per head (Starters, main course, and one drink each)http://www.wheniate.com/2012/10/review-thai-high-mehrauli.htmlwheniate.com

Thai High's biggest drawback if I can call it is its location which is at the Ambawatta complex which at one point used to be the go to place for all the major designer shops before the sealing drive in the area happened but now it's next to a village and in an empty building with 2 rather good restaurants, Thai kitchen and Popadum.Once you overcome the location bit, you will really like this place. It is particularly preferred for its huge roof top Alfresco area which looks very good at night time and with the location overlooking Qutub minar, it even adds more to the look. Adjoining to it their covered seating area too which is a good option if the weather is not good and you wanna sit inside. If you are fond of thai food then this place can be called a hidden gem. I personally visit this place a lot for its ambience and food. They have lots of specialities in seafood, poultry, meats but that is something that I have not tried but my friends always order. They have a limited variety in veg starters but whenever I have asked them if they can make something for me(staff is very courteous but lack a little on the knowledge/recommendation part), the chef has always gone out of the way to make stuff like veg salt and pepper, crispy corn kernels and mushrooms which all of them are delicious though out of the menu. The other 2 snacks in the menu, Porpia chae(crispy spring rolls), satay che(cottage cheese and mushrooms with peanut sauce) is a cracking starter. The crispy mix veg salad is tangy and nice, in the main course the phad plik sod which is a mushroom babycorn dish in basic sauce is decent, crispy vegetables in chilly plum sauce is good. The best part or preparation for me are their red and green thai curries prepared in coconut milk, thai chilly paste and served with assorted vegetables, it is just delicious and best had with normal steamed rice. Also the stir fried veg rice is good. In deserts death by chocolate and their cheese cakes are good options worth trying. Drinks menu is good enough. If they market this place more, expand their starters menu and make the staff a little more knowledgeable, then this Thai joint will reach a real high...Thai High's biggest drawback if I can call it is its location which is at the Ambawatta complex which at one point used to be the go to place for all the major designer shops before the sealing drive in the area happened but now it's next to a village and in an empty building with 2 rather good restaurants, Thai kitchen and Popadum.Once you overcome the location bit, you will really like this place. This place has been around for a very very long time and they must be doing something right to have survived for so long given that about 70% of the new restaurants opened in this region of India shut-down within the first one year. The first time I visited this restaurant was about 8 years ago and then again now. Thankfully Zomato is around now, enabling me to share my experience : ) Very nice ambience. Nice view of the Qutab minar if you sit outside. More covers outside than inside. About 70-30. Good food. Very nice presentation. Their Thai green curry was very nice and their chocolate mousse was exceptional. A must-try if you like Thai food.

Not everyone's choice. They have lot of choices in their menu and the staff does a good job at explaining things that you ask. They provide a torch to read the menu :)Food was good but I expected it to be much better since this place is a little on the expensive side. Surprisingly, Mehrauli has the most amazing restaurants which are definitely worth going to on a special occasion. They're all spread over a large area, few of the most romantic spots in Delhi and have good food. One such restaurant is Thai High. Although it was a little difficult to locate this place, and it's in a very shady area, but once I entered the place, it was worth all that extra effort. And thankfully they had a valet facility. So this place expands over 2 floors and we were directed towards the upper floor. Being a weekday at lunch time, this place was empty, we were the only ones.We sat down, had a look at the menu and ordered satay chae, mushroom broccoli and baby corn in chilly and basil paste and stir fried noodles with lemongrass and chilly. To drink, we had 2PM and Virgin Daiquiri. Our drinks came in, and the quantity of the mocktails was tiny. The Virgin Daiquiri tasted like the most regular nimbu paani and 2PM had a funny taste, the coke in it was flat too. I asked them to change the Virgin Daiquiri and they just added strawberry flavour to it, which at least made it better, if not good.By the time the starter arrived, it had started raining and the water started seeping into the restaurant. They should do something about this.Anyway, the starter we had was really good. Four sticks with two pieces of mushroom and two pieces of paneer each. It was quite tasty, especially with the sauces. The main course arrived and I felt that the curry was a little bland, although the noodles were amazing, with just the right amount of lemongrass flavour. The service was great, and even though it was raining heavily, the servers got the food safely from the kitchen downstairs and through the open area, to our table. For more, follow me on:facebook.com/pages/La-Degustación/519812958148591and onladegustacionblog.wordpress.comladegustacionblog.wordpress.comSurprisingly, Mehrauli has the most amazing restaurants which are definitely worth going to on a special occasion. After haring gem rear appreciation for this place, we thought of giving it a try.. As we expected, it was in the middle of nowhere, a bit dingy area, luckily there was valet..!! It's located in an old building with the gate lifts, by the looks of the entrance we wanted to turn back...The restaurant is located on the 4th n the 5th floor with mostly sit outs, we preferred sitting inside, couldn't bear Delhi heat anymore... The place is a typical romantic spot with candle lights n cabanas, probably one of the oldest if I'm correct...We ordered our traditional dimsums n thai red curry apart from the others to gauge this place... To my dissapointment, we just didn't like it, the red curry had big pcs of onion, n the dimsums were too oily.. Luckily they served us an on the house mixed veg, which was yum....!!!The service was fairly quick, but this place still lacks something...Overall below average food, great ambiance, scary n lost location, decent service...!!! With places like Magique, olive n cheri nearby, this place needs a lot of work to do....!!!We ordered our traditional dimsums n thai red curry apart from the others to gauge this place... We went to Thai High for the first time as it came highly recommended. The location is frankly creepy! We went after a comedy night hence very late and the roads were deserted. Anyways the restaurant is beautiful. The staff is courteous. But the food is average. The yellow noodles were exactly like any hakka noodle dish from a roadside van. The veg green curry was also quite average. Minced chicken and basil was just sad. Came out so disappointed.

Delicious, simple, high on flavors, reasonably decent on presentation, Good portions and a foodie's delight.Service has improved since they re-opened 2 yrs ago so that was a respite.Ambience is very average because at the core of it, the place is on a terrace with a little covered area. They haven't invested much in creating a Thai space except the normal buddha heads etc but then the views of Qutub Minar and Mehrauli are worth it. This could be any restaurant serving any cuisine...We had a good time here and have always liked the place for its no nonsense food.Being a veggie, we tried the Spicy Salad (which is their speciality) and another dish which had water chest nuts as its base... Both were quite nice. For main course, we ordered Thai Green Curry which was finger licking..Only negative was: Due to a private party, they were playing blasting music with no time restrictions.... That was a huge let down but then they worked around it after we showed concern. All in all.. Good place for Delhi winter nights with nice thai food and good selection of wine.On a Point scale (out of 10):Food: 8Service: 8Ambience: 6Location: 8Drinks: 6Value for Money: 7Idea for a romantic dinner: 8Have been an ardent fan of Thai High (Ex Thai Wok) since so many years now and the food has remained absolutely same... I have been to Thai High twice now and the thing that I love is the ambiance. At night you can view Qutub Minar in the backdrop and the open seating area makes the view worth while. Its a great place to hangout for a couple of drinks but the food has been a bit of a let down. The problem is with the delicate balance of flavors I expect from a good thai restaurant.Interestingly, I cant think of any dish that I can recommend as well :(

Finally, I made my often-postponed trip to Thai High.Nestled in the Ambavatta Complex in Mehrauli the best thing about the restaurant is the ambience. I have always believed that the food is the primary parameter to measure a restaurant is, no matter how great the ambience might. Thai High is perhaps the only exception. The menu is extensive, through not very friendly for vegetarians as one of the friends in my group discovered. The food is good but not great - you can perhaps find equally good Thai food in other restaurants as well. However, the overall experience was very pleasant and we had a really enjoyable dinner. Definitely worth one visit if not more.Perhaps the only other recommendation would be hire personnel(or train current staff) more suited to a fine dining restaurant.

The only reason I have this restaurant 3 stars rather than 4 is because it has not catered to vegetarians very well. You cannot substitute tofu for any of the meats. It's also a little tricky to get to this place but once you get there it's worth the trek cause the ambience is wonderful. Definitely a restaurant for a date night.

Ambience: Very nice, occupying the top floor of the ambawatta complex with a roomy, airy terrace commanding a nice view over the qutub minar. Nice but non-intrusive background music. Top marks.Service: This is the difficult point, service was friendly but very slow and lacked coordination. It's very clear to me that there should be a head waiter to keep an eye on staff and coordinate things. It's not that they lack waiters, they just seem to be running around like headless chickens.Food: My appetizer consisted of larb kai salad and this was realy, spectacularly tasty. Not indianised at all, just like it would have been served in Thailand. The main was crab in tamarind and chilli and this dish also was really tasty. For desert I had the 'flaming dates' pastry which was nice but a tad too dry and not really inspired. One small negative has to do not with the food but with the perennial problem of showing a long menu on which many items turn out not to be available (especially the drinks).Price for dinner for 2 consisting of 2 cocktails each, starter, mains, desert and coffee turned out to be 6600 RS. Price/quality wise I'd give them a 7/10, hence the 3 star rating.Ambience: Very nice, occupying the top floor of the ambawatta complex with a roomy, airy terrace commanding a nice view over the qutub minar. I had taken sine friends out to Thai High this past winters, as they wanted to experience the delhi winter from a rooftop restaurant. Taking them to this restaurant wasn't the beat decision in retrospect.Located further ahead from blue frog and Cherie one, Thai high is located in the interior bit of mehrauli. Given the limited parking space available, I was glad to know they had valet service. The view from the restaurant is pretty great but in my opinion the restaurant is too dingy. The day we went, the restaurant was mostly operating at below 20% capacity and was still struggling. There weren't enough sigrees and the ones they had were placed between two tables and we were pretty cold. The service too wasn't great. We had the crispy lamb in Thai chilly paste, chicken spring rolls, corn marinated with coconut, chicken tom kha soup, crispy veg in chilly plum sauce, Thai high chicken and chicken Penang curry. Unfortunately nothing stood out. Everything was pretty average and nothing tasted worth going back for.Overall I didn't have a great visit to Thai high. Reading all the previous reviews we thought of giving Thai high a try to celebrate my birthday.I completely agree that the view of the Qutub is good from there terrace setting. I love the ambience and quite peace one feels there. The only thing is the restaurant is on 3rd floor and then you need to climb a flight of wooden stair, that got to me as I'm scared of wooden (unsteady/non-brick) stairs. Our dinner went on smoothly, the food served hot and the service been timed properly. Honestly, with the restaurant being empty and just us I'm happy that I got the attentive service.Coming to the food- we are pure vegetarian and though there are options yet the options are the same. The flavours for appetiser is repeated for the main course too. The vegetables are the same- broccoli, mushroom and sweet corn. They haven't played around with variety of vegetable thai cooking can use- eggplant, lotus stem, okra, etc. They didn't even have any dish of tofu and when asked to get tofu dish from their Chinese menu- they were out of tofu. The drink were usual thing, nothing exciting or different. We weren't up to try their dessert either.Overall, the ambience is good, food average. I visited Thai High last weekend, & the place was thankfully not as difficult to locate as some of the reviews had suggested..... it is right next to the intersection where the Mehrauli DTC bus depot entrance is.The facade itself is an unassuming one, & hides well the beauty which lies within it's walls. The restaurant comprises of a 32 seater indoor area (which no one seems to like, especially if the weather is pleasant), plus a huge open terrace, spread over 2 floors, with a bird's eye view of the city..... the view is pretty, especially on a clear night. The service is warm & attentive, though the open area is, at times, & for some people, a tad too dark for comfort (we saw a family next to us asking if they could have more light to see the menu, & later the dishes on the table, too)!We skipped the starters, but ordered the BBQ pork ribs, a vegetable dish, fish with Thai basil sauce & rice & noodles to go with this fare. The food took about 20 minutes  to come, but was lukewarm..... the waiter offered to get the stuff reheated, but this was refused by us, for fear that we may end up getting the items over cooked, & also compromise on it's taste & texture. The ribs were ordered extra-spicy, but they were still only mildly so; the vegetables (mixed, with mushrooms added upon special request) in light soya sauce were nice & crunchy, the fish was batter fried & then tossed in a Thai sauce, but was about average in taste & presentation (you can find a similar dish in any Chinese/ Oriental restaurant these days, at a far lower price than the INR 700/- ++ we paid for it here). The rice & noodles were flavourful, but way below the ideal serving temperature. The portions in this restaurant tend to be on the smaller size, while the prices are sky high!.We ended up paying close to 4k for a meal which was not exceptional in any way, other than the view from the terrace, & the warm service!I visited Thai High last weekend, & the place was thankfully not as difficult to locate as some of the reviews had suggested..... it is right next to the intersection where the Mehrauli DTC bus depot entrance is.The facade itself is an unassuming one, & hides well the beauty which lies within it's walls. The restaurant comprises of a 32 seater indoor area (which no one seems to like, especially if the weather is pleasant), plus a huge open terrace, spread over 2 floors, with a bird's eye view of the city..... the view is pretty, especially on a clear night. The service is warm & attentive, though the open area is, at times, & for some people, a tad too dark for comfort (we saw a family next to us asking if they could have more light to see the menu, & later the dishes on the table, too)!

The veg main course padthai and thai rice were very good and salads were also very good but the chicken satay wasnt upto its mark. The desserts were a big disappointment. They were stale. The staff didnt have an explanation for it. We tried the blueberry cheesecake and death by chocolate. Only the location was amazing

Very average Thai food with horrible desserts.....the service was great but the dessert had a hair in it and was baddddd, we ordered a baileys mousse, the worst I have ever had !! Som tam was too tangy and pad Thai had to be changed as the veggies were burnt....about the location , they keep the best part of the restaurant with the best view of Qutab minar shut for parties even when there are no parties happening!!

Visited the place on valentine's day. Unfortunately the experience was not good. The quality of food was below average. The service was even worse, one of the worst I have come across.

Writing this review just after visiting the place..Firstly, bit difficult to locate as the restaurant is in the roof top of a building constructed for commercial purpose, but not a single shop or office exists there. So I had to call up the restaurant to confirm where they are located, and then they suggested me to take the lift and come to the 3rd floor. Once you are off the lift, the area is very nicely done, and you have to climb few stairs before you reach Thai High. They have a huge open area with nice seating, but since we went in the afternoon, we preferred to sit inside the restaurant.Once seated, we had to tell them thrice for water, and finally water came, much after the menu was handed over to us. We ordered for a starter, which was a crisp fried chicken, and iced tea and they were pretty prompt in getting the started, followed by the iced tea. The starter was good, but the iced tea was the impression spoiler. Firstly 3/4th of glass was filled with ice, and the first sip, and it was still normal water at the bottom. Disgusted, we asked them to change, and they did so without any crib. We told them not to fill the glass with ice, and we wanted 'iced tea', not ice dipped in hot tea.We ordered for main course, which was basically veg noodles, and Thai High specialty chicken, and the food was very average and the quantity, not sufficient to feed 1 person. We finally got the iced tea, with less ice, and interestingly, the water that was served, was colder than the iced tea.Overall experience, below average..!! Pricing and quantity should seriously be relooked into.Writing this review just after visiting the place..Firstly, bit difficult to locate as the restaurant is in the roof top of a building constructed for commercial purpose, but not a single shop or office exists there. Good gone very average! So this place has become like an actor in the industry who has lost his/her charm. Its like the actor has either become irrelevant because better talent is in the market or simply because the actor lost the plot.Let's start with the food. Its way too average. It tastes like Indian Chinese, almost nothing Thai about it. I feel the only way they could win is if they were competing with a Chinese food van. The presentation is also very average. The food is greasy and doesn't even taste fresh. The only saviour on our table was the soup but then you can't fill your stomach with just that right! The next jewel in the crown is the service. I'll be honest the servers are quite polite but the delay in service is annoying! A raw papaya salad cannot take 45 mins to land on a table! That's just not acceptable. The only place they score is the ambience. The Qutb view and roof top seating is what saved them. However, on a Saturday night if all your tables are not full then there is something seriously wrong going on!I had taken a friend from Bombay for a Thai meal and we ended up eating roadside Chinese! Embarrassing and totally avoidable! You were good at one point in time but maybe we didn't know better at the time.Good gone very average! So this place has become like an actor in the industry who has lost his/her charm. Terrible experience !I was really looking forward to an evening at Thai High after having heard so much about it. The place was every bit as lovely as promised, owing to perhaps the best view of the Qutab minar, but sadly, the service was very disappointing.1. We were given a table 20 minutes after we arrived in spite of having a reservation2. I had to flail my arms to grab the attention of the server3. My satay arrived without the peanut sauce4. We were not given cutlery.5. We were given only one knife after asking for cutlery6. The worst: The manager was very defiant.I left the restaurant very displeased.

For a quite valentine lunch my friend and I decided to visit Thai high. But before you expect me to comment on the food, I want to explicitly mention that I dint even reach the place. So the gps takes you to the mehrauli village but not exactly the restaurant. We went around 2pm and the mehrauli bus depot was jam packed. There is one small lane on the right which takes you to Thai high, which is about 10 meters away.We reached after battling with the gps for 15 mins. And yes we did try to call the resurgent for directions but they dint pick up.There was no parking and also NO VALET.We tried to look for parking and then we finally gave up and went to Olive kitchen and bar.Olive lived up to its expectations as usual.I really wanted to try this place, but I'm sure I won't be coming back for it clearly because it's not feasible and these people make no effort to make it too.No signs, no valet and not answering the phone. So make sure you know what you're heading for, or just have a back up.For a quite valentine lunch my friend and I decided to visit Thai high. But before you expect me to comment on the food, I want to explicitly mention that I dint even reach the place. So the gps takes you to the mehrauli village but not exactly the restaurant. Recently went to this place with a couple of friends. This has got to be the worst Thai food I have ever had. There was nothing authentic about this food, the chef is probably high when he created the recipes. My friend ordered one soup which tasted exactly like tamatar shorba!! Another friend who just arrived in the restaurant when the soup was being served thought they we had instead come to some Mughlai restaurant.Disappointed we only ordered the chicken satay in the starters which were decent. In the main course dishes, the dishes were extremely bland when we had specifically requested spicy food. The lack of flavor really turned all of us off the food and we just wanted to quickly finish and get out. The manager probably overheard us complain about the quality of the food and he served us complimentary desserts which were probably the best things we ate in the restaurant. Thai High reinforced the notion that the best things in life are indeed free.Service was decently good but the place was a little too dark for my taste. Since the weather was cold, the placed coal fires around our table which made it pleasant to sit. Have heard a lot about the ambiance but since we were the only guests in the place, I cannot comment on it.Recently went to this place with a couple of friends. This place does not qualify to be called a proper Thai restaurant. From start to finish.. everything about the place..to the food was completely rubbish. Actually I didn't stay for Main Course(thank god). Ordered main course but then cancelled it after 2 minutes. It is in a dilapidated building.. which first of all you won't be able to find. Took me half an hour. They say they have fab views of the Qutub Minar but that isn't the case. Very shabbily done up terrace..Not even proper comfortable chairs.Service was horrible. The waiter didn't know anything about Thai food. Only two dishes he knew were "Pad Thai & Thai Curry" That is what he was recommending again and again cause that is all knew! Haha.Ordered Koong Satay for starters. Basically a grilled prawn dish..It was tasteless and undercooked. No so called flavour of Lemon Grass or Galangal etc which it was supposed to be marinated in. And it is very difficult to under cook prawns as they get done so quickly. Soup was also quite lousy..Though just a tad bit better than the starters. Food would be 1/5 for me.And the waiters there have some arrogance I tell you. Wanted to talk to the manager but he did not show up. Also filled up the feedback form. Not a single call back! Sure shot sign that the management or the owners don't give a rats ass about the place or customer feedback.Prices were sort of on the upper side. If the food would have been great then the prices would be great..But with this kind of food and such shoddy service.. I wouldn't want to pay anything at all!Apparently this is an old place and lot of you might have been there and also possible that some of you have had a good meal there.. Cause somebody who had been there earlier recommended it, but then my experience was just the opposite. This place does not qualify to be called a proper Thai restaurant. Agree with some of the below reviews completely.....Expected a lot more from the preparations.Over priced, poor approach, view of Qutab is blocked and forms a good backdrop only if you are seated right on the top most outdoor seating. As we indulge in Thai food quite often we would expect Thai High to as a bare minimumto review cheap outlets such as Thai Express in Singapore to suite the Indian Palate if thats whats deterring them to go Authentic.

I will desist from using expletives and try to herd my kinda people away from all that is sacrilege and possibly a waste of dinero. The place is a mangy, forever under construction building in the middle of a village. The elevator is a trap with semi functional lamps and a seriously zoned out security guard. Hop skip to the meal ( being gentle here), you order thai --- you get a punjabi version of everything. Everything is over salted, over fried and significantly masala-fied. I almost bust a capillary when the simplest dishes came with tangy sauce and for a minute I was thinking if I had come to a quick fix pandara road joint. The staff have no clue what they are pushing and the chef is one hundred percent a yo-china transplant. Then it all makes sense, the crowd is your typical bloated middle, jeans, Armani exchange, Shiny black boots types. The ones who not know the difference but need a lace to talk about their new 'prapatee' and freely dispense with mother-sister references. And then the staff have the cheek to charge you like you have been blessed and have just eaten at a Michelin rated thai bistro in NYC or something. If you want to eat genuine thai, just don't bother with this place.I will desist from using expletives and try to herd my kinda people away from all that is sacrilege and possibly a waste of dinero. we went to Thai High on 14th feb, just felt like having good thai food, the place had good reviews and the occasion was a good excuse. We made reservations, and reached there only to be told there was a 1000 bucks cover charge, we were not informed about the cover charge when we made reservations, the cover charge did not include any drinks, there was no live band, no harps playing, no heart shaped complimentary dessert, nothing! just cuz it was Valentine's day! they knew most couples on a romantic date will not turn around, anyway that would be too much of a bother and a waste of time. We heard other people grumbling. Its not about the money, it is about feeling cheated, the food was good but the extortion left a bad taste in the mouth. and also just to raise some money and capitalize on an occasion, didn't they just lose quite a few customers (is that a good marketing strategy) at least they lost me

After reading the previous reviews I can only decipher that my trip to this place was jinxed!Three of us went to Thai High yesterday (May30, 2012) for dinner. The fact that the place was absolutely empty, when we reached there at 8:45, was no deterrent. We ordered 3 peach iced teas, which at first the gentleman waiting on us, assured was available, only to return five minutes later to tell us that they only have lemon iced teas, when life gives you no peach have lemon instead, so, we complied. For appetizers we had Satay Kai, which was most rubbery and we just couldn't figure out whether it was too stale or done very badly!By the time we were done with the entree, three more diners had joined us and it was most reassuring, so we went ahead and ordered the main course.Trying my best to get the pronunciation correct I ordered the Panaeng Koong curry, only to realize that never should I order something the pronunciation of which I can't get at one-go. The prawns in the curry were a little raw. But the high point of the whole dinner was the gravy from the curry, and that was the only thing that all of us could have to our hearts' content! The experience left a bitter taste in the mouth, quite literally, and if at all I go to Thai High another time I'll make sure I consult an astrologer! After reading the previous reviews I can only decipher that my trip to this place was jinxed!Three of us went to Thai High yesterday (May30, 2012) for dinner.
